Why Friends of Kilmer Raises Funds

Friends of Kilmer steps in where funding gaps exist—so our school can thrive, not just get by. From replacing essential auditorium sound equipment, to enhancing our playground, to funding community-building events like Teacher Appreciation Day and our annual Art & Movie Nights, our fundraising directly supports the everyday magic of school life.

In Fiscal Year 2026, we enthusiastically launched our Teacher Mini Grants Initiative, awarding up to $500 per grade level and specials department to fund teacher-led projects and activities. This is our way of investing directly in the educators who care for, teach, and inspire our children every single day—fueling creativity, innovation, and joy in the classroom.

Our impact is made possible through a combination of direct donations from families and community members, as well as local partnerships and sponsors who show up for Kilmer in big-hearted ways. Each year, we collaborate with community partners like McDonald’s for McTeacher Night, where teachers and administrators roll up their sleeves to welcome families and support fundraising efforts, as well as Chipotle and Double Good Popcorn. These partnerships don’t just raise funds—they strengthen connection and school pride.

We are continually learning how to be more responsive to the evolving needs of our school and community, and we’re grateful to grow alongside you.

Join the Fundraising Committee

Our Fundraising Committee works to secure critical resources for Kilmer by building strong relationships with families, community members, and partners. This dedicated group of parents leads fundraising efforts, supports events and campaigns, submits grant requests, and focuses on connecting people to our mission in meaningful, lasting ways.

The role isn’t just about raising money—it’s about growing a community of support that sustains our school for the long term.

We strive to make fundraising accessible and inclusive, so everyone has an opportunity to contribute in a way that works for them. If this work energizes you and you’re interested in joining the committee, we’d love to connect.
